In collaboration with the Engineering Pathway (EP) digital library, IJEE is asking authors to fill in metadata on accepted papers so as to increase functionality of the IJEE website and make all papers searchable both within IJEE and the Engineering Pathway engineering education digital library. 'Engineering
Pathway (EP) is a portal to high-quality teaching and learning resources in
applied science and math, engineering, computer science/information
technology and engineering technology, for use by K-12 and university
educators and students. The Engineering Pathway server is located at the
University of California,Berkeley and is an initiative of the
National Science Foundation through the National Digital Science
Library with the aim of presenting selected engineering
education resources to academics in higher education, K-12 teachers, and
students worldwide.' Before you catalog your own IJEE paper, you may want to browse
the EP digital library to make sure your paper is not already in the system
and to view other resources. The EP website is at: http://www.engineeringpathway.com.
EP has a quick search, advanced search and browse features. Please follow the following three steps in cataloging your paper
in EP and IJEE: Step 1: If you have not yet registered on EP, please go to the EP
home page and click on "Register" in the upper right menu bar. This
information is kept confidential and is only used to authenticate and
personalize your workspace in EP. Remember your login (the email
address you submitted) and the password. You will need to login before you
will be allowed to catalog your paper in the system. http://www.engineeringpathway.com/ Step 2: Click on the link below to go to the special IJEE cataloging
form. If you have not logged in yet, you will be asked to do so.
Remember that your email address used when you register is your login. http://www.engineeringpathway.com/ep/catalog/ijee_catalog/ Step 3: Fill in all relevant information in the cataloging form.
Some of the fields have default values. For example, the URL field is set to
the general IJEE website. If your paper is linked to the IJEE website, use
the direct link to your paper instead. When you are done, click on the
"continue" button at the bottom of the form and you will get a
preview and the option to either "edit" or "create new
learning resource". Once the resource has been
"created", it will immediately show up in the IJEE
collection on EP; it will also show up in your personal workspace. You can
update and refine the catalog record anytime. Note: only users who have a subscription will be able to access
papers published after 2001. Step 4: Review the final catalog record to be sure that the link
to the paper was entered correctly and to correct any errors. If you paper
has not yet posted, you can enter the direct link later. You may also want to
add a "comment" if there are additional papers, educator's guides
or software associated with your paper you wish to describe or link to. Thank you again for your help in increasing the visibility and search capabilities of IJEE. If you have any questions about the cataloging form please contact Larry Genalo at: July
